New Evolution-Free Curriculum for

Children Makes Science Fun and Easy

By Jim Day

Science is a great area to teach, because children have a natural curiosity about the world. They want to know why and how things work, what things are made of, and where they came from. The trick is to tap into their curiosity so they want to find answers.  Activities can be very effective in helping young learners to make sense of the world around them!

An exciting new evolution-free elementary science curriculum teams easy to do, hands-on activities with core concepts and biblical truth. With items readily available in your home or school, you can turn science into an unforgettable journey of discovery.

In the Investigate the Possibilities Series, young learners will discover chemistry, physics, and physical science are more fun than they could have ever imagined. Each book takes solid scientific concepts and teams them with creation apologetics to create a power learning experience. Developed by educators with over 65 years of experience in teaching science, the series enables students to learn to think more critically, to put scientific ideas into perspective, discover how science works, and become more grounded in their faith in the Bible.

Creation apologetics is presented in narrative forms, connections are made to biblical references, there are ‘on your own’ challenges, as well as questions to make students pause and think, while creating a historical context through stories about scientists and engineers.

Children will find out how a simple experiment using only a pencil, balloon, string, straw and tape can show them the difference in movements of rockets.  They’ll learn about bubbles, water, colors, salt, the periodic table, and focus in on elementary chemistry in Matter: Its Properties & Its Changes. Elementary physical science like friction, heat, and more becomes the focus in Forces & Motion: From High-speed Jets to Wind-up Toys. In Energy: Its Forms, Changes & Functions kids will learn about wind, waves, solar power, nuclear power and other types of energy.

Each book has an associated teacher's guide with helpful objectives and ideas, as well as a student journal to record results of the activities.

Authors Tom DeRosa and Carolyn Reeves have over 65 years of combined experience teaching science. DeRosa, a committed creationist and founder of the Creation Studies Institute that has an education focus, has taught public school, Christian school, and in the home schooling market. Known for his insights into what engages young minds, he has a masters degree in education and is an enthusiastic speaker at education venues.

Reeves excels in not just helping kids to learn science concepts, but also how these apply in the world around them. Retiring after decades in the classroom, Reeves completed her doctorate in science education and began working as an educational consultant.
