Developing a Christian Worldview Class
Begins at the Family Vision Library
By Jim Day
As 2009 dawns with discouraging economic news, uncertain political
change, cultural contrasts and conflict, it is clear the war continues. Not just the war against radical Islam but the
war of worldviews to be
precise.
Many
Christians know the terms Secular Humanism, Darwinism, Situational Ethics,
Moral Relativism, Socialism and host of other ugly isms, but how many
Christians really know the depth of the danger in these ideas?
On
Wednesday January 14th the Family Vision Library (located at 516 South 5th
Street in St. Charles, MO) began hosting a 20-week course entitled Developing a Christian Worldview. Although the course began January 14th, those
interested in equipping themselves in developing a Christian worldview can
register up to January 28th and make-up course opportunities will be made
available.
The
topics covered include: Understanding the Lie of Humanism – Humanism is a
Religion; Why Humanism is a Lie and Christianity is Truth; A Biblical Worldview
for Success; The Four Duties of a Good Soldier of Jesus Christ; Understanding
the Importance of Truth; The New Age Movement: The Growing National Religion;
The Practical Benefit of Christianity; The Fad of Christianity; The Compromise
Road – The Church and Evolution, plus more.
Developing a Christian Worldview is a
CD/DVD/textbook and test course facilitated by John Thrower, President of the
Family Vision Library and is for students ages 13 and up. As mentioned earlier, the course began Wednesday,
January 14th and will be conducted for 20 consecutive Wednesdays from 1:30 to
2:45 p.m. concluding on May 27th. The
cost for the course is $25 for the 200-page workbook and tests.
It
is vitally important that our young people (and adults as well) be firmly
grounded with a Christian worldview.
Christians must be prepared to ‘fight the good fight’ by defending their
faith in Jesus Christ in today’s secular society. Developing
a Christian Worldview will give you and your children the foundational
knowledge to stand firm in your convictions and reach others with the saving
message of the Gospel.
