Dear MetroVoice Readers,

Joy to the world, the Lord has come, let Earth receive her King! One of my favorite memories is taking the entire family Christmas caroling with our church family. Together a large group of Christians would walk around the neighborhood near our church singing Christmas carols. Most people would stand at their doorway, listen to the songs, and wave to us with smiles on their faces.

But, the world is changing. People aren’t always pleased to see carolers singing Christ-centered carols today. More and more people see Christianity or religion in general as unimportant. Some even espouse a belief that religion is dangerous or evil. More and more people are atheist or agnostics. Some employers and business owners tell employees to say, “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.” And public schools do not allow Christmas carols to be sung.

Yet, proclaiming the Gospel beyond the walls of the church is critically important in today’s world. Why? Because the Gospel (John 3:16; Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-7) transforms lives!

Airing my weekly, hour-long Family Shield radio program on AM 850 KFUO in St. Louis and into eight other Midwest states as well as other Christian radio stations, is just one way Family Shield accomplishes its mission and proclaims the Gospel beyond the walls of the church. Equipping Christians to share their faith through seminars and my new book Witnessing—A Lifestyle are other ways to accomplish the mission.

I pray that you will join me in the New Year by helping me to share the good news of the Gospel with everyone.  May you have a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year in 2009! You are special!

In His Service and yours,
