Life Christian School (LCS), a ministry of Life Christian Church founded in 1983 is celebrating their 25th Anniversary.  Faculty and staff are already in the process of planning activities in order to celebrate throughout the 2008/2009 school year.   As they have done for the past several years, the new year will begin with a celebratory balloon launch; this will take place on the first day of school, August 18, 2008.   There are plans to make the launch more exciting by delivering donated school supplies to local families in need.

“Outreach to the community has always been an important part of teaching our students how to extend love to others as Jesus gives us love,” says Mrs. Aleta Stuart, teacher at Life Christian School for 20 years.
In the Fall of 2007, Life Christian School conducted a coat drive that collected 100 coats for Community Alternatives, a leader in mental health and social services for the St Louis community.  Around the holidays, they collected and prepared care packages for soldiers in Iraq.  This Spring, they sponsored a Train Show for the area.  To help fight hunger, Life Christian School offered a discounted entrance fee for each canned good brought in.  Hundreds of food items were collected and delivered to a local food pantry.

In years past, Life Christian School has participated in circus day for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, sent gift bags to people in prison at Christmas time, visited nursing homes and raked leaves for disabled citizens.  The school intends to continue its tradition of outreach to thank the community for twenty-five years of support.

“Our students learn to give according to their ability, beyond their ability, and voluntarily” says Pastor Pat Krepps who leads weekly chapel service at LCS.

Life Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school, located at 13001 Gravois Road in Sunset Hills.  They serve students from age three through eighth grade.  LCS offers the standard Abeka curriculum taught by accredited teachers along with electives including Computers, Spanish, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Spring/Winter Musicals.  LCS also sponsors an exciting Summer Camp Program where campers from ages 3 through 8th grade learn Tae Kwon Do, swim, and take field trips to the River City Rascals, the zoo, and local museums.
