Actor, economist, presidential speech writer and activist Ben Stein will speak before the Missouri legislature in the Missouri state capitol in Jefferson City, MO and present the documentary movie Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed which opens in theaters nation-wide on April 18th.

 

March 30 - April 4

Brookside Missionary Baptist Church, 3025 Doddridge Ave. in Maryland Heights, MO

April 4 & 5 

As  Iron Sharpens  Iron, So One Man Sharpens Another (Proverbs 27:17) will be the theme for the West St. Louis County Men's Retreat, sponsored by Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church. The retreat is open to all men from West County churches, Friday and Saturday, April 4th and 5th, at Lake Williamson Christian Center in Carlinville, IL.  Their special guest speaker will be Dr. Jay Sklar of Covenant Theological Seminary.  There will be fellowship and devotional time, as well as athletic and outdoor activities. April 10-11-12

The Greater St. Louis Area Home Educators Expo will be held at First Evangelical Free Church located at 1375 Carman Road in Manchester, MO. The Expo starts on Thursday, April 10th with FREE admission to the Exhibitor Hall and other events from 5 to 9 p.m. Exhibitors from across the country will be on hand to display the newest and best they have to offer in curriculum and services. The annual Homeschool Variety Show will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. and again from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. which will showcase the talents of homeschool students from all over the region. Families can also attend one of the New Homeschoolers Seminars to obtain helpful information and guidance from experienced homeschool couples. On Friday and Saturday there will be a wide variety of events to choose from in addition to the Exhibition Hall and numerous speakers. The Special Needs Area will offer workshops that address the challenges of ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, dyslexia, bipolar disorder, speech and language delays and a great deal more. There will also be a special Children’s Expo where children 5 to 12 will enjoy two days of music, crafts, skits and exceptional creation materials from Answers in Genesis. Students For Life at St. Louis University will be hosting their 2nd Annual Run for Their Lives fund raiser.  Funds raised by this 5K run/walk will help to establish a scholarship fund at SLU to support pregnant and parenting students. Family Shield Ministries, a recognized service organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, will hold its annual ministry fund raising dinner with the theme Share the Light of Jesus (John 8:12) at the Holiday Inn Viking Conference Center located at 10709 Watson Rd. in Sunset Hills, MO. This year’s keynote speaker will be Rev. Robert Roegner, Executive Director of the LCMS World Missions and music will be led by Kevin Bueltmann. Classic 99/KFUO-FM and the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod will be celebrating the station’s 60th Anniversary of broadcasting classical and sacred music to the St. Louis region with Leonard Slatkin and Friends. Leonard Slatkin, former conductor and music director of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will host the special evening, which will include performances by five world-renowned musicians. April 16 – May 21

The Family Vision Library, located at 516 S. 5th Street in St. Charles, MO will host a six-week video course held every Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. entitled An Introduction to Residential Electricity for Home School presented by Bill Seamon and Eric Hovind for children ages 8 and up. The course will provide a basic knowledge of wiring and the fundamentals of electricity. The only fee is a $5 material fee for the workbook. The Family Vision Library is a non-profit, free public lending library offering conservative Biblical worldview books and resources for the entire family. Pastor John MacArthur will be at Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church, located at 1230 Big Bend in Ballwin, MO for their evening service on Thursday evening which will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. the doors will be open to the area where Dr. MacArthur’s books may be viewed and purchased. The doors to the sanctuary will be open at 6 p.m. After the service Dr. MacArthur will have an autograph session and books will again be available to be purchased.
