AiG Creation
Museum Opens
May 28th
There's nothing like it in the world!
By Ken Ham and Mark Looy
|
|
The high-tech, 60,000 square-foot Creation
Museum near the Cincinnati Airport (and just a half-day drive
from St. Louis) is a one-of-a-kind “walk through the history of
the world.” It’s unique as a museum in that it presents history
according to the Bible.
Opening May 28, this $27 million project (built
completely by donations, and more than 90% of the necessary funding
has already come in) is more than a state-of-the-art museum. It
is an evangelistic outreach, and the newest project of the world’s
largest apologetics (i.e. Christianity-defending) ministry, Answers
in Genesis (AiG). Combining careful
research with cutting-edge technology, the museum will help defend
the foundations of the Christian faith where it has come under
most direct attack: at the book of Genesis!
Why Another Museum?
Generations of people
have been brought up to see the Bible
as just a book of interesting stories and theological teachings
but unconnected to physical reality, a book that — by and large
— deals mostly with abstract, spiritual things. But that’s just
not true!
The Bible
is so much more than a book on spiritual matters — it’s a treasure
chest of facts that reveal the major events of the past. These
historical facts are foundational to a proper understanding of
the Bible’s important teachings, including the gospel message itself.
The Creation Museum will explain that the Bible — the revealed Word of God — can be trusted to tell us
the truth in every area it touches on: geology, biology, astronomy,
and so much more. This first-class facility, with more than 160
exhibits and 50 videos, will feature a “walk through history”
based on the Bible’s teaching about the past, and it will also describe how real
science confirms the Bible’s
amazing account of history.

One-Of-A-Kind Creation
Museum
By Ken Ham, President of Answers in Genesis

The Creation Museum near Cincinnati – less than a 6-hour
drive from downtown St. Louis -- is the first
of its kind in the world. Using state-of-the-art technology, this
“walk through biblical history” -- covering the cosmological,
biological, geological, and anthropological history of the universe
– will offer families several startling exhibits dealing with
the controversial topic of the Bible
and science.
As they stroll
through, guests will experience four theatres (including a cutting-edge
Special Effects Theatre), a Planetarium (with the latest Digistar
projection system), animatronic dinosaurs
and human figures, over 50 professionally produced videos, dioramas,
waterfalls, kiosks, world-class fossil displays, a Noah’s Ark-themed
café, and even a bookstore with a medieval castle theme.
Families will walk
through the history of the world as recorded in the book of Genesis and the rest of the Bible. They will experience true history,
as opposed to what is presented in the St. Louis Science Center,
where, for example, visitors are told that dinosaurs died out
65 million years ago in evolutionary history.
As well as the
experiential exhibits, guests will be given answers to today’s
questions posed by skeptics concerning the Bible’s
account of creation, the global Flood, the Tower of Babel, and
the Gospel message -- through videos, signage, theatres, and audio
presentations.
Visitors will walk
through the Grand Canyon, the history of the Bible, the Garden of Eden, a scene of the creation of Adam and Eve,
the cave of sorrows and corruption valley (the Fall), and into
a startling exhibit where they will experience walking through
Noah’s Ark. Guests will then stroll into a world that was greatly
affected by the Flood of Noah’s day—and then into Babylon to understand
the dispersion of the different people groups—then into Jerusalem
and into a high-tech theatre where the Christian Gospel is presented
on a large screen (with a dynamic video presentation filmed specially
for this presentation).
The museum tour
concludes near the Palm Plaza (with a striking Egyptian theme),
and while there, visitors can obtain even more answers from the
Bible through the plaza’s kiosks and additional
exhibits, and also enter the world of dinosaurs.
