Among Topics of Town Hall Meeting September 26, 2006

 

    Residents of West County will have a chance to hear lawmakers and their key staff members discuss important issues affecting all Missourians at a Town Hall Meeting at Pillar in the Valley in Chesterfield on Tuesday, September 26.
    State Representative Allen Icet of the 84th district will host the meeting. Icet, Chairman of the House Budget Committee, and other elected officials will talk about state and federal spending, immigration, eminent domain, stem-cell research and other topics of interest to area families.

    Speakers will include State Senators John Loudon and John Griesheimer, County Councilman Greg Quinn, and staffers for U.S. Senators Kit Bond and Jim Talent and Congressman Todd Akin. The meeting will be of special interest to those who live in the 84th district, as they will
hear from lawmakers who represent them at the county, state and federal level. All area residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and take part in the discussion.
    “We’re hoping a large number of area residents will turn out to hear about issues that confront our legislative bodies,” said Representative Icet. “We need input from citizens to help us make wise decisions that will benefit our state and the nation.”

    Bill Federer, prominent author and speaker, will emcee the program. Federer appears regularly on national television shows. His books include George Washington Carver – His Life and Faith in His Own Words and America’s God and Country Encyclopedia of Quotations. Federer’s presentations at universities, churches, civic clubs and state capitols illuminate America’s rich Christian heritage.

    The Town Hall get-together is free and refreshments will be served. Families are urged to attend the meeting which will begin at 7 p.m. and conclude by 9 p.m.
