PRC Walk4Life May 13th

The Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) is encouraging everyone who values the sanctity of human life to “Put their feet to their Faith” by participating in their annual Walk4Life fundraising event to be held May 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Creve Coeur Park in Creve Coeur, MO.

After the success of the 2005 Walk4Life campaign, they’re ramping up this year’s event in hopes of surpassing last year’s number of participants and amount raised. Last year marked the largest turnout of walkers and funds raised in PRC’s 23 year history. Over 600 sponsored walkers raised approximately $100,000.

In 2006, the PRC hopes to see 1,000 sponsored walkers each raising $250 or more. (Every walker that raises $250 or more will receive a free special edition Walk4Life t-shirt.)

PRC Expands Walk Events

In order to reach their fundraising goal and make the Walk4Life an even more enjoyable and exciting event, they’ve added more events to the Walk and extended the hours. They’ve also announced the addition of their first annual Run4Life. Designed for more active participants, the 6K (non competitive) run will begin at 8:30 a.m. While you can come and walk at any time during the day, PRC is encouraging all that can to come and walk at 10 a.m. The Walk will follow the Run at 10 a.m. What a sight that will be to see 1,000; 1,200; 1,500 or more walkers proclaiming the sanctity of human life by walking together through Creve Coeur Park.

Walk participants will be able to enjoy musical entertainment from 10 to 2, provided by the Metro Christian Worship Center Praise and Worship Team. PRC has also announced that young walkers and walker want-to-bes will enjoy a greater variety of children’s activities this year sponsored by Southside Hills Assembly of God Church. Food and refreshments will again be served by the culinary wizards of First Evangelical Free Church who have vowed to outdo themselves this year.

PRC staffers and medical experts will be on hand through out the day to offer presentations on sexual integrity for teens and parents, life in the womb, how to be an effective sidewalk counselor and various other educational presentations. Literature will be available for you to take home and share with others.

Proceeds from the Walk4Life go to finance PRC outreach counseling, maternity home, and educational services which are all provided free of charge to those in need.

“The funds raised through the Walk4Life are absolutely critical to enabling PRC to carry out ministry throughout 2006,” PRC President Mark Dungan said. “These resources are needed to meet the needs of women and men involved in unplanned pregnancies and reach teenagers with the message of sexual abstinence outside of marriage.”
