St. Louis Conference on Biblical
Discernment April 27-29
On April 27-29, 2006 Parker Road Baptist
Church, in Florissant, MO, will serve as host for an important national
convention, the Saint Louis Conference on Biblical Discernment.
The conference is sponsored by Personal Freedom Outreach (PFO), a
St. Louis-based apologetic and counter‑cult ministry aimed toward
educating Christians about the dangers and heretical doctrines of the cults and
to warn of unbiblical teachings within the Church itself.
Through the Saint Louis Conference on Biblical Discernment, a tremendous
opportunity to learn under nationally recognized experts in the field of cults
and
apologetics
will be provided. Included will be
Dr. Bruce Ware, Senior Associate Dean and Professor of Christian Theology
at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville; Dr. Ron Rhodes,
author, frequent radio guest, and president of Reasoning from the Scriptures
Ministries; Rev. Richard Fisher, senior researcher and writer for PFO’s
The Quarterly Journal and pastor
of Laurelton Park Baptist Church for over 30 years; Dr. Paul Maier, professor
of Ancient History at Western Michigan University and author of both scholarly
and popular works; and Dr. Richard Mayhue, executive vice-president of The Master’s College and
Seminary. In addition to these teachers,
there will be fifteen other lecturers, authors and experts in the apologetics
field.
Those attending the conference will have an opportunity to attend
six different workshops from a list of forty-two. These multiple workshops will cover the
prominent cults of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons and others along with
Charismatic Extremism, New Age Movement, Shepherding, Aberrational Groups,
Satanism and the Occult, World Religions, Discernment, Counseling and
Theological issues. They will assist
Christians to a better understanding of how to effectively respond to
counterfeit gospels and subtle heresies presently facing the Church.
In comparison to the cost of other conference registrations, the
Saint Louis Conference on Biblical Discernment is very minimal. The entire three days of meetings is a mere
$65 for pre‑registration before April 1, and $80 on or after April 2
through on-site registration time.
(Registering before the conference is highly recommended.) Reservations for a banquet on Thursday
evening are also being taken (limited seating) for $15.
This will be an event which will enhance both a minister’s and layman’s
ministry alike. It is an excellent
opportunity to be vaccinated against false teachers. Learn to discern! Call Personal Freedom Outreach at (314) 921‑9800
