St. Louis Theological Seminary offers Master of Theology Degree

 By Jim Day

St. Louis is now the home to another seminary. The St. Louis Theological Seminary and Bible Institute will begin holding classes on September 6.  A special inaugural service is to be held on September 4th at 2 p.m. at St. Louis Bible Fellowship Church located at 6234 Victoria Ave., in St. Louis.

Seminary President, Richard A. Owsley says that St. Louis Theological Seminary will teach from a Dispensational understanding of the Scriptures, with emphasis on “Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth”  (2 Timothy 2:15).  It is the purpose of the seminary’s faculty to follow the instructions of the Apostle Paul to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”  “Our purpose is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by training faithful men and women for ministry related services,” says President Owsley.

St. Louis Theological Seminary will offer a Master Degree in Theology.  This degree will require the completion of thirty-six credit hours. All Seminary applicants should have a bachelor’s degree.  For those who do not have a B.A., classes will be offered at the Bible Institute and after completion of seventy-eight credit hours, a Certificate of Theology will be conferred.  The student may then enroll for the Master level courses.

Many of the Master level courses can be taken by the distance education format, with some on-line classes offered.  Traditional classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m.
