Midwest Summit for Morality and Our

Godly Heritage Set for Sept. 24 in Joplin

By Jim Day

On September 24, representatives of several groups of concerned citizens will gather together to hold what is being billed as the “Midwest Summit for Morality and Our Godly Heritage.” The conference will cover the who, what, when, where and how of the moral decay which has permeated our nation and what can be done to reverse its effects. Special attention will be given to the public education system and its effect on our children.

Sponsored by AMERICA ASLEEP kNOw MORE, the Summit will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in the Taylor Auditorium on the campus of Missouri Southern State University, 3950 East Newman Road in Joplin, MO. Open to the public, there will be no charge to attend.

Speakers at this important summit will include: Dave Daubenmire, the founder and president of Pass the Salt and Minutemen United Ministries, who is a former public school teacher and coach from Ohio.  In 1998 the ACLU went after Coach Daubenmire and sued him for praying with his football teams before games. In the end he prevailed.

    R. L. Beasley the Executive Director of the Missouri Chapter of the American Family Association (AFA). The AFA is the largest God and family organization in America. A watchman, evangelist and inspirational speaker for our times, R.L. is working to reach the lost and educate and awaken sleeping Christians everywhere.

Attorney Bruce Shortt the author of The Harsh Truth About Public Schools from Texas whose cry to all Christians is to remove their children from public schools. Bruce speaks nationwide on why the children must be saved from government schools.

Finn Laursen is the Executive Director of Christian Educators Association International, a professional association for Christian educators in both public and private schools. Finn was a public school educator in Ohio for 32 years. During his last 5 years as Public School Superintendent, a local resident ran for the school board after announcing he wanted to rid the district of any Christian influence – starting with Finn. Over a 3 year period the harassment and attacks by the board member were unbelievable. But as the local churches became active in their schools, the board member resigned and left the district with a trail of destruction and law suits behind him.

Shawn DeGraff, an educator and consultant in the field of law, is a true defender of the faith who believes that God’s Laws are above man’s laws.

Gregory Thompson the Founder of AMERICA ASLEEP kNOw MORE and the Fellowship & Association of Christian Teachers, is the former Superintendent of Schools of Humansville, MO. In September 2004 Gregory was forced to resign as a result of a lawsuit by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in the school cafeteria, having a Bible on his desk, a cross on the wall in his office and for leading a prayer on Veterans Day at the request of students and teachers who had loved ones in Iraq at the time. Now Greg’s passion is to bring together educators and people from all walks of life to turn America from its present course of self-destruction, return our nation to its godly foundations and protect the souls of our children.

If you care about America, if you want to do something to stop the moral decay of our nation, if you care about the souls of your children and your children’s children…then this is must attend conference.
