Dr. Henry Blackaby to Speak March 18th

at Pray St. Louis Fund Raising Dinner

By Loretta Nevins

The St. Louis Community National Day of Prayer (SLCNDP) task force will be hosting a Pray St. Louis! fund raising dinner on Friday, March 18th at the Sheraton Westport Hotel in St. Louis County in preparation for the 53rd Annual National Day of Prayer on May 5th.

Dr. Henry Blackaby, author of Experiencing God and founder of Henry Blackaby Ministries, will be the guest speaker at the dinner. Dr. Blackaby’s engaging personality, enchanting voice and Holy Sprit-filled message is certain to captivate and enlighten the dinner audience. His articulate, yet down-to-earth message will compel the body of Christ in St. Louis to “wake-up” and call upon our Lord God. In the course of his ministry, Dr. Blackaby has served as a Pastor and Special Assistant to the Presidents of the North American Mission Board, International Mission Board, and Sunday School Board on prayer and revival for global spiritual awakening. The mission of his ministry is eloquently defined on his web site: “The heart-cry of the Blackaby family is to disciple God’s people in such a way that God’s Holy Spirit would bring revival in the hearts of God’s people and spiritual awakening to a lost world.”

Our vision in St. Louis is that the heartland would experience revival through increased prayer and unity in the Body of Christ.  We are blessed and honored to have Dr. Blackaby deliver his Spirit-filled message for St. Louis at the Pray St. Louis! fund raising dinner providing inspiration and direction for us to lead the area in prayer on the National Day of Prayer!

The purpose of the SLCNDP is to assist Christians in the metro St. Louis area to gather at local city halls and other venues on the annual National Day of Prayer, the first Thursday of May, to pray. On the National Day of Prayer, over 30 mid-day city hall events and one large evening event named Pray St. Louis! will prayerfully unite the entire Body of Christ in prayer for our nation and its leaders. Our mission is to encourage Christians to pray more every day, both privately and united corporately in the Body of Christ. Our vision is revival in the St. Louis metro area and nationwide through increased prayer, so that the Kingdom of God may be expanded as people accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

The fund raising dinner will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m. with dinner being served at 7 p.m. Individual tickets are $25 to offset the expense of the dinner and a collection will be taken to help finance Pray St. Louis!  Tables seating 10 may be purchased for $250. Corporate sponsored tables will be designated as such with a table tag, and are an excellent form of advertising in a Christian environment. Churches are also encouraged to purchase tables and invite honored guests.  Supporting churches and corporations will be listed in the evening’s program as well as in the Pray St. Louis! program on the National Day of Prayer, and on our website. All proceeds from the dinner are tax-deductible and will benefit Pray St. Louis!, calling the entire Church in St. Louis together on the National Day of Prayer to humbly seek God’s face.  To order dinner tickets and to learn more about the St. Louis Community National Day of Prayer and Pray St. Louis! call (314) 253-4075 or visit our website at: www.slcndp.org..
