“The right of every woman to give birth; the right of every child to be born” has been the motto of Birthright from its inception over thirty-four years ago, some time before the legalization of abortion in 1973 when the Supreme Court made abortion legal in all fifty states, all nine months of the baby’s life.

Birthright Counseling of St. Louis with its six locations has been used by God to save thousands of babies from abortion throughout their thirty-four years of service.

How have they done it?  By meeting the specific, individual needs of the thousands of frightened, sometimes abandoned women that were facing a crisis pregnancy.  Birthright begins by doing an accurate pregnancy test then having the women talk with one of their many counselors that have a Masters in social work or counseling. The woman’s immediate needs are assessed and she is then helped to meet those needs.

Many women feel that they must abort their baby because there is no one to help them.  At Birthright they not only help these women emotionally, they are able to help them financially if need be. 

Over the years, Birthright has had many generous donors who have recognized the fact that many women in crisis pregnancy situations often need more than just emotional hand-holding; they need us, as Christians, to put our faith in action by providing for their basic needs as well. The results; babies saved!
