Planned Parenthood Advocates
of St. Louis Candidate Ratings

    The following listing was produced by Planned Parenthood Advocates (PPA) the political arm of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region.  It’s a list of candidates who won their primary elections in August of this year who answered a 12 question survey sent to them prior to the primary elections. PPA rated each candidate based upon their voting records (incumbents) and/or how they responded to their survey questions. The candidates listed will be on the November ballot.

    It is important to note that I have chosen to list only those candidates who are within the MetroVoice’s readership area from PPA’s survey. This list does not constitute a complete listing of Missouri candidates who were included in PPA’s survey results.

Originally, PPA listed the candidates’ responses who were Pro-Life by labeling them as “Anti-Choice” (initials AC on their original listing). Candidates who were supportive of “all FDA-approved birth control options” (i.e., RU-486); funding of “state Family Planning” (i.e., tax-payer funding of abortions); the teaching of “sex education” in public schools (i.e., handing out condoms and teaching kids how to have “safe-sex”); stood behind the Roe v. Wade decision; and a number of other pro-death topics, were labeled “Pro-Choice” (initials PC on their original listing).

I refuse to use the euphuism “Pro-Choice” coined by this or any other organization that promotes, funds or supports the murdering of innocent children.  The child in its mother’s womb isn’t given a “Choice” when they’re murdered. Therefore, I changed PPA’s code from “PC” (Pro-Choice) to “Pro-Death” which is a much more accurate designation.

I also changed their label for candidates who stand opposed to the killing of babies. People who think the state should not fund the murder of children in their mother’s womb; people who don’t think our public schools should be handing out condoms, down-playing abstinence, and encouraging children to have “safe sex” or “explore their sexuality by being open to same sex experiences”; and people who know that Roe v. Wade was a murderous decision handed down by an activist Supreme Court, whose only interest was to impose their death sentence upon innocent children with total disregard for the Constitutional guarantees of “life and liberty” for the unborn. PPA had labeled these candidates “AC” for “Anti-Choice.”  I changed their designation to “Pro-life.”

The following is the key to reading PPA’s listing:

(D) = Democrat Party
(R) = Republican Party
(Lib) = Libertarian Party

i = Incumbent candidate

Pro-Death = Had a 100% voting record or agreeable response to their survey.
Pro-Death-- = Mostly supportive with some exceptions which were not listed.
Mixed = Had mixed responses or voting record.
Mixed* = Had mixed responses but PPA did not indicate what the * (asterisk) meant.

Pro-Life =  Pro-Life
Pro-Life* = Did not respond to survey, but were rated pro-life by Missouri Right To Life.

NR = Gave No Response.

I believe it can be safely assumed that Missouri Planned Parenthood endorses the Democrat ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards for President and Vice President. They have officially endorsed these federal level candidates:

U.S. Senate Nancy Farmer (D)
U.S. Congress Dist. 1  William Lacy Clay (D)  i
U.S. Congress Dist. 3 Russ Carnahan (D)
