"I
Am the Only Way"
John 14 1-6
By Dr. David Jeremiah
| A
motivating factor behind this message was an article I read about
George Barna. Barna, a pollster who’s become the George
Gallup of evangelical Christianity, conducted a survey of American
Christians in 1992 and another one in 2002. What he found was that
biblically-based, born again, evangelical Christianity, which comprised
12 percent of the population in 1992, had declined to five percent
in 2002. One
significant indicator of that |
|
decline was an increasing number of believers who deny the most
basic of fundamental Christian beliefs. Those
basics, which are exclusive to Christianity and potentially offensive
to those who are not Christians, are being vacated for easy, soft,
unoffensive truth claims.
|
 |
| John 14:6 is probably the most exclusive
and potentially offensive of all Christ’s sayings. In this verse
Jesus says categorically, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”
Then He adds to ensure that no one misunderstands Him, “No one comes
to the Father except through Me.” A narrow statement? Yes. An exclusive
one? Yes. |

The Crushing Weight
By Ray Vander Laan
| The
culture and land
of Israel offer
great evidence and testimony to God’s truths in Scripture.
That’s one reason I’ve never tired of leading numerous
study tours there. By
examining the customs of ancient times we are able to glean
more knowledge and insight into the
life of Christ and His teachings. |
| The
scene of Christ’s passion in the Garden
of Gethsemane the
night before He died is a familiar story – one of supreme
sorrow and blood-wrenching anguish.
And yet,
there’s much about the significance of the |
|
setting that we in the modern
world have missed.

Largest
Jesus Sign
Ever Made
| On Easter Sunday, April 11th, from noon until
4 p.m., the Overlook Stage in front of the Gateway Arch will
be transformed into a giant living Jesus sign. |
| A new ministry called
Sign Up for Jesus will be hosting St. Louis’
first Show Me Jesus
Rally and March to proclaim the name of Christ and make
the |
|
largest living Jesus sign ever attempted
to be constructed. The sign which Daniel Howard founder
of Sign Up for Jesus is attempting to construct, will hopefully
be made up of a thousand or more people all holding the green and
white “Jesus” signs that are found in yards and on billboards across
Missouri.
