Publisher’s Note…
As
followers of the MetroVoice know, we really don’t have a Letters to the Editor page.
Of course we also don’t have a section dedicated to pets either. Someday we will definitely have a Letters to
the Editor page. In the mean time we’ve
decided to kill two birds with one stone by creating a new column entitled Ask Ellie - a unique
question and answer column featuring a new columnist by the name of Ellie May
Day. We hope you will enjoy her insightful commentary and answers to letters
from readers. – Jim Day, Publisher
Question: What is your favorite
treat?
Answer: Hands down -- PIGS
EARS!
Question: Ellie...I know you’re
pretty smart but I bet you can’t tell me which came first; the chicken or the
egg? – Chicken Little
Answer: Dear Little; That’s so easy I can’t believe you even asked that question.
The chicken of course! On the fifth day God said, "Let the waters teem
with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open
expanse of the heavens. God created the great sea
monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed
after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was
good. God blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters
in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.’" (Gen 1:19-22 – NAS).
So you see the Bible plainly says God
created the chicken before the egg.
Question: Ellie, what's the best
way to wake up your mom and dad in the morning when you’re bored? – Bored Bull
Dog
Answer: Dear Bored; You have to
gently start licking them and then increase when you see them open theirs eyes.
Then it's important to look real cute so that they don't get mad at you.
Cocking your head to one side will help, they always think
that’s cute.
Question: Ellie, I watch a lot of
TV and was wondering what is your favorite TV show? - Victor
Answer: Dear Vic, Well,
programming is just not what it used to be. TV shows like Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, and Father Knows
Best were great. But, unfortunately, they don’t make those kinds of programs
any more. TV has gotten so bad I don’t even watch it. I prefer just hanging out
with my family, playing fetch with ‘em and playing
guard dog.
Question: Who is the most
important person in your life?
Answer: Well that's easy -- my dad.
He gives me treats and shares his dinner with me. If I hang out when he‘s
snacking, I ALWAYS get the crumbs.
Question: Hi Ellie…I’m a French
Poodle and have been thinking about joining an animal rights organization. Can
you recommend one?
Answer: Dear Frenchie…don’t be silly. Why would you want to join an
animal rights group? Most of those groups put animals on the same plane as
humans and that’s certainly not what God intended when He created us. Animals
were created to be helpers and companions and to serve as a source of
nourishment and clothing for man. God has given man dominion over the animals
and man is supposed to respect His creations. Of course, those humans who
mistreat us are going to have to answer to God for their conduct. I would
suggest you read Proverbs
