World Missions Conference Set

For October 8-10 in St. Louis

A Christian cannot be passionate for the Lord without being passionate towards the lost!  When political issues, poverty and sickness keep the world in turmoil, it is more important than ever to spread the Good News to those nations who do not know or who have limited knowledge of Christ. Many Christians, however, wonder if the seeds they sow in the mission field produce results: is it worth it to support missionaries? Is it worth their money and time to travel to another country and witness to people? Will the conversation of an unsaved neighbor change their life?

Helen Todd of World Missions Alliance knows from her life experience the importance of sowing the seeds of the Gospel. She was born and raised in the Communist Soviet Union and found Christ through a Gospel tract smuggled in by American missionaries and randomly handed to her brother. “I have never gotten to see the face of the person who handed my brother that tract," says Helen. "I am afraid they may have left the Soviet Union discouraged, thinking their efforts were useless. But I know for sure at least one life was saved. This one little Gospel tract continues to bring lives to Christ in many countries.” Years after praying the sinners prayer as a Russian teenager, Helen Todd, together with her husband, Charles Todd, founded World Missions Alliance – a ministry dedicated to spreading the Gospel in 'the hottest spots' of the world.

As veterans of missions work, Charles and Helen Todd want to encourage American Christians to ask themselves: "What is my position in the Great Commission?" The Todd's mission here in the United States is to help Christians find a fresh perspective in their walk with God, discover the joy of living a 'life with a mission.'  From October 8th through the 10th, they will host a multinational World Missions Conference in St. Louis where powerful and anointed ministers from the U.S., China, Russia and India will address these questions and more.

Among the keynote speakers will be Dan Baumann, an American missionary imprisoned in Iran. In 1997 Baumann was wrongfully accused of espionage and thrown into the most infamous high-security prison in Iran. In that unlikely place, under the threat of execution and in the midst of despair, Dan witnessed the powerful triumph of God’s love over fear.  His book, Imprisoned: Love’s Victory Over Fear, is a strong account of a man whose faith was strengthened through persecution.

Another well-known speaker will be TV star, former Miss Florida, Christian author and pastor’s wife, Nancy Stafford. You may have seen her on ABC’s Matlock, ER or other popular television shows. You may have heard her on Focus on the Family or read her book, Beauty by the Book: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You, published by Multnomah Publishers. Her book was referred to as “one of the most valuable Christian books to be published in decades.”  Nancy’s message will be focused on the scriptural truths dealing with such issues as cultural bondage and bondage of your past, feelings of unworthiness, and many others we face in our lives. Nancy has helped many women and men with healing to transformation, from insecurities to whole acceptance.

You will also hear from a fiery evangelist from Communist China, Nancy Liu, whose life was saved from committing a suicide and murder by receiving a Bible from a friend. Russian General Borisov will also be there to share his story of a modern day “Saul” becoming “Paul” in a rare personal appearance. Dr. Johnny Lee Cook, once a popular singer and comedian on the Hee-Haw show, and now a full-time minister of the Gospel, will bring a humorous and inspiring message as well.

During the conference you will be able to participate in an interesting and timely seminar entitled How to Minister to the Muslims taught by Matthew and Usha Reifsnider, ministers from the Middle East who have 10 years of experience.

Charles and Helen Todd put special emphasis on the worship part of the conference and have carefully selected the best worship leaders and singers in the country. Among them you will hear from Kenny Williamson, Ben Kirk, Jerri Holliday and Pete Figueroa.

Charles Todd is the son of the well-known American evangelist Dr. Cecil Todd. He felt the call into ministry at a very young age and has been involved in missions work full-time since 1990.

Under the leadership of Charles and Helen Todd, over 2000 American Christians have traveled to spread the Gospel in Russia, post-Soviet countries, and India. In 1999, Charles received special permission from the Chinese Government to bring missionary groups to Communist China. Together with the supporters of World Missions Alliance, Charles has helped Chinese Christians build a 7-story 50,000 square foot ministry complex, which houses two separate congregations, a Bible distribution center, a pastors’ training school, and housing for missionaries. In November of this year, World Missions Alliance will make its first groundbreaking trip to Iraq.

The World Missions Conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Chesterfield located at 16625 Swingley Rd.
