Dust off your baseball glove and get ready to enjoy some spirit filled Christian entertainment, listen to some incredible testimonies and be blessed by the sight of a lot of happy children!  Christian Family Day at Busch Stadium is rapidly approaching and now is the time to get your tickets to attend.

On Saturday, July 26, the Red Birds will face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates in a 1:10 p.m. game in the 13th Annual Christian Family Day (CFD) at the ballpark event.  Immediately following the game, the contemporary Christian entertainment group Salvador from Austin, Texas will take to the field to perform some of their best known songs honoring Christ.

Susie Busch, who has a real heart for underprivileged children, will serve as this year's Honorary Chairman.

For those not familiar with Christian Family Day, CFD is a great evangelistic event that opens the door for thousands to experience Jesus and invite Him into their lives in a non-threatening manner.  It also affords thousands of under-privileged children the opportunity to attend and experience the awesome power of God through praise, worship and testimonies of sports figures and Christian entertainers.  Just a few of the many sports figures and men of faith who have given their testimonies in the past have included Mike Sweeney, Kurt Warner, Dawson McAllister, Dave Dravecky, Gary Gaetti, Tim Burke, Tommy Herr, Darrell Porter, Mike Singletary, and Lou Brock.  Entertainers who have participated have included such well-known artists as Russ Lee, Al Denson, Todd Proctor, Chris Tomlin, Randy Mayfield, Joel Engle, Robert Burkhart and Phillips, Craig & Dean.

The real blessing of CFD however, centers on the children.  Thanks to those who purchase tickets, make outright tax-deductible contributions and corporate sponsors, some 3,200 of our areas neediest children will hopefully get to attend the game and hear the Gospel this year.  Festivities for the kids will begin around 10:30 a.m. in the Gateway Plaza where they will receive a Chick-Fil-A meal, beverage, ticket to the game and a whole lot of love.

Of course, Christian Family Day would be nothing more than a dream without the support of its sponsors and the tireless work of hundreds of volunteers and the CFD committee. This year's corporate sponsors include ADMO, Cass Bank Corporation, McArthur's Bakery, ProPrint, Frailey's Restaurants, Dierbergs Family Markets, Freddie's Market, Chick-Fil-A Restaurants, Hamilton Jewelers, Metro-Vision Ministries, Cordell and Cordell, P.C., Attorney at Law Bob R.Young, Mid Rivers Mortgage, Christian radio station Joy FM 97.7, GuysNamedJerry.Com, Neustaedter's Fine Jewelry, Christian Financial Services, Eberhardt Music, Relax the Back, Gary B. Wiele D.D.S., Frito Lay, Christian radio station KSIV AM 1320 and FM 91.5 and the St. Louis MetroVoice Newspaper.

Some 12,000 tickets have been set aside by the Cardinal organization for this year's CFD and may be purchased by calling Paul Freiert (a member of the Christian Family Day Committee) at (636) 227-9788; through CFD’s web site (www.christianfamilyday.com) or by visiting any of the One Way Book Stores, Kingdom Treasures, Sunshine Unlimited Bookstore in Pontoon Beach, IL, Stuff N More Resell It Shop in House Springs, MO, Lemstone Books in the South County Center and Lifeway Christian Bookstore in Bridgeton.
Tickets (Terrace Reserved) are $18 each and group discounts are also available at $17 per ticket for groups of 25 or more if purchased before June 26th. Checks for ticket purchases and tax-deductible contributions should be sent to: CFD, Box 576, Chesterfield, MO 63006. For convenience, CFD also accepts Discover, MasterCard and Visa credit cards for ticket purchases and donations.

In order to make CFD a day to remember for the children, the CFD committee must raise some $48,000 to provide the kids with the meal, beverage and ticket to the game. A $15 contribution sends one child to the game for a memorable day at the ball park.

Keep in mind, whether it's purchasing a ticket, making a donation or signing up to be a sponsor for next year's game, you'll be making a difference in someone's life.  Thousands of children (and adults) have come to know Christ through this event.  Our responsibility is to reach out with the Gospel in love, and this is a great way to do it.
