Focus' National Bike Ride

for the Family May 15-17

Area cyclists to meet in Wentzville and ride to KC

More regions, more cyclists, more impact.  This is just the beginning of Focus on the Family's new vision for continuing the National Bike Ride for the Family.  Cyclists can now join one of ten regional rides mapped across the U.S. in 2003.

While the first ride covered all fifty states, this year will consist of 10 regional rides, each spanning three days, Thursday through Saturday. Cyclists from Missouri and Illinois will have the opportunity to join the Great Plains regional ride May 15-17.  Participants leave the St. Louis area at 7 a.m. on May 15th from the Holiday Inn in Wentzville, Missouri and peddle their way to Kansas City via the towns of Mexico and Marshall Missouri.

“As we reflect back on the great success experienced by the National Bike Ride for the Family during its inaugural run, we’re excited the adventure is now entering phase two!,” said co-host and bike ride participant John Fuller.  “Looking ahead to the ten regional rides slated for 2003, we are anticipating lives touched by God, relationships deepened, and opportunities to share about the ministry of Focus on the Family.”
Focus expects to draw 100 capable cyclists per ride who will commit to raising $1,500 in support of Focus’ many resources for strengthening the family. Raising over $2 million last year, the National Bike Ride for the Family continues to be Focus’ largest promotional and fund-raising event ever.  With this year’s individual fund-raising goal being cut in half, Focus hopes that even more cyclists will be encouraged to ride.

Focus will also take this opportunity to bring awareness about new events and ministries within the organization for strengthening the family.  Staff members from Heritage Builders, Focus over Fifty, Focus on Your Family’s Health, and Focus’ nine magazines will be among the guest cyclists.

This “retreat on wheels” is a once in a lifetime experience.  Don’t miss the adventure!  Log onto www.bikerideforthefamily.org for details and join the ride of your choice.
