Seek His Presence Missions

Event Set for Nov. 8 & 9

By Neal Dahlen

Seek His Presence! is a call-defining, area-wide, missions event scheduled for November 8th and 9th (Friday & Saturday) to be held at the Rockwood South Middle School in Fenton, MO.

The goals of this event are to understand the conditions that are necessary for experiencing the presence of the Lord by His Holy Spirit, to hear from the Lord and understand your commission in the Great Commission. Within that framework, you will be able to build a network of lasting relationships upon which to build college and career decisions while learning about alternative careers on the mission field today. Specifically, careers that compete for high level skills that are typically associated with the secular job market, such as Engineering, Aviation, Computer Science, Health Care and the Media.

The theme - Seek His PRESENCE - will be taught in the following manner: The leading session will address what is involved in having a (P) prepared heart in anticipation of experiencing an intimate time with Jesus. Next, what it is to have a (R) receptive heart that is filled with His Spirit and ready for that intimate encounter. From there we will spend a great deal of time seeking intimacy with Jesus in a real and credible way by cultivating and allowing the Lord to cultivate (E) eager, (S) submissive, (E) enabled hearts within us. We will finish up by learning how to dwell in two realms by abiding in the one-on-one intimacy with the Lord while fellowshipping with others with a (N) nurturing heart. We also will address issues facing the believer after such an encounter of intimacy in a session called 'the (C) communing heart'. Finally, we will finish the acrostic by learning what is involved in making the journey again and acting as a mentor and coach for others with an (E) enduring heart. To close the event, we plan a capstone session to address our need to be in the world but not of the world in order to seek the lost and to help the lost see and face the Cross of Christ.

Joining Chaplain (CPT) Jeff Struecker in the speaker line-up will be author Rev Larry Christensen, recording artist Kemper Crabb, author Winkie Pratney, pastor and ministry founder Rev. Charles Shepson, as well as the founding dean of the College of Counseling and Health Care (University of the Nations) Dr. Bruce Thompson. Also scheduled to speak: missionary Herry Stube, teacher and pastor Rev. Alec Brooks and pastor Steve Norman. Worship will be led by the Holy Spirit, assisting Him will be Greg and Rebecca Sparks. For sake of space I can't list exhaustive biographical sketches here, but I ask you to read more about each one of these distinguished servants and the ministries the Lord has used them to start and those they are currently involved in by logging on to http://www.inhispresence.info/.

Registration is $65 per person (it may seem like a lot at first, but this includes lunch and dinner catered in on Saturday as well as some real, personal access to some incredible people).
