River Blenders Chorus of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 15764 Clayton Road in Ellisville, is presently encouraging women singers to audition for their award-winning chorus on Monday nights. Rehearsals are from 7:30 to10 p.m. Singers will be voice placed and will have the opportunity to join the chorus on the risers. All voice parts are welcome to audition. This innovative and exciting 100-voice chorus performs throughout St. Louis and will represent the region at the International Sweet Adeline Competition in November 2002 in Nashville, TN.

McNamee Gallery at the Samuel Couple House, 221 N. Grand in St. Louis will be displaying a collection of rare Medieval and Renaissance illuminated manuscripts from the 13th to the 16th centuries Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each week through December 23rd. The collection is from the Pius XII Memorial Library at St. Louis University. The display is being held in conjunction with the 29th Annual St. Louis Conference on Manuscript Studies. The Lincoln County Republican Pachyderm Club is hosting an Early Old Fashioned Thanksgiving with U.S. Congressman Todd Akin and U.S. Senate Candidate Jim Talent at 12:00 noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1307 West Boone Street, Troy, MO. Lutheran Bible Translators of Aurora, IL will be holding its 2002 fall dinner entitled From Darkness Into Light at the Royale Orleans Restaurant, 2801 Telegraph Rd. in St. Louis beginning at 6:30 p.m. The featured guest speaker will be Rev. Johannes Tolu, a Lutheran pastor from Namibia in southern Africa who will share information about the work taking place on the Dhimba New Testament translation and the impact of Bible translation on those people waiting to have God's Word made available to them in their own language.
