Camp Penuel to Hold Spring Banquet April 7

Camp Penuel, which provides a totally free camping experience for area inner city children, will hold their 28th Annual Spring Fund Raising Banquet on April 7th from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn South (Highway 55 & Lindbergh) in South St. Louis County. Seating will be limited to approximately 350 guests and reservations are required by contacting Verna Ganz at (314) 423-0183. There is no charge to attend, but guests are being encouraged to donate at least $20 for the cost of the meal and what ever else the Lord leads them to donate to help support this vital ministry.
Located in Ironton, MO, Camp Penuel is a Christ centered, nonprofit organization that ministers to inner city and at-risk children, ages 7 to 11, who come from the poorest of neighborhoods. These children are witnesses to drug abuse, gang violence and crime on a daily basis and, for them, this is about the only opportunity they have to attend a camp and get away from their environment. Penuel is one of the largest non-denominational Christian camps in the Midwest and, to our knowledge, the only one that provides a totally free summer camping experience for inner city children in our area. Last year Camp Penuel was able to host 3,400 youngsters who could never have afforded the opportunity to attend camp.
Penuel's annual Spring banquet is the main fund raising event that helps sponsor children to attend the camp. Rev. Harold Hendrick, columnist for the St. Louis MetroVoice and Encounter Talk Show host on Christian radio station KSIV, will be the Master of Ceremonies for the banquet, which will include dinner, music, children's testimonies and songs, as well as special music provided by very talented Christian singers.
